This 1979 Dodge Ramcharger, owned by Ramcharger1979, has an estimated 220 horsepower. All of this truck’s torque and power comes from a stout new rebuilt 360 engine. To complete this Ramcharger’s powertrain, a new process 435 manual transmission is used. With the help of a skyjacker 4 inch lift suspension, this Dodge is a real off road machine. Check out some of the pictures and ratings for this 4WD below, as well as other info about this ride.

About my Ramcharger

I bought the truck for 800 dollars and rebuilt it from the ground up.

By custom body work I mean that I bought a 1978 Dodge truck and took the entire front end off of it and put it on my ramcharger. The ramcharger was in pretty rough shape on the whole front end. so I bought another truck and put the front end off of it on my ramcharger.

The truck has a New Process 435 Manual transmission with a New Process 203 transfer case from a GM truck. it has a 4x2 conversion kit installed.

I put a lot of time into this truck and hope to get my hands on a smittybilt bumper. I also want to find a better driveshaft than the stock constant Velocity.

I have just recently added a train horn kit from  Hornblasters.com

just to update.. the trucks motor has been pulled and a brand new rebuilt 360 takes it place.. also the truck now sports a smitty bilt bumper

At present the tires are 33 12.50 15 super swamper tsl's
but I'm going to be adding a body lift to the truck so the next set will be 35's or bigger. The style bumper I would like to have is a smittybilt tubular. but I also like bull bars and brush guards. Theirs several places I'm might wheel, I'm not entirely sure yet

No I don't. I checked with smittybilt for some bumpers for mine and they said they dont make them anymore. theres another truck here that has some smittybilt tube bumpers on it but i havent been able to find any for mine.

Very cool. Love the Ramcharger. My cousin has a 1985 2WD Ramcharger in mint condition. I've wanted to do a 4WD convo or maybe just yoke it out in 2WD and go preunner style. but man, i'm such a 4WD guy that I don't think I could leave it alone. anyway, nice rig. love them ramchargers.
