This 1984 Subaru GL, owned by legacymax, has an estimated 60 horsepower. All of this truck’s torque and power comes from a stout 1.8L engine. To complete this GL’s powertrain, a 4 speed hi/low 4wd transmission is used. With the help of a stock suspension, this Subaru is a real off road machine. Check out some of the pictures and ratings for this 4WD below, as well as other info about this ride.

About my GL
I bought my car for $280 and it needed a rear hub and a radiator. I sold it to a friend in Iowa and then bought it back a year later with new seats, louvers, a radio. tubular front bumper with winch mount(atv winch) and oil pan protector. I then rebuilt the carb, installed MSD coil and wires, 14" wheels with Uniroyal Liberator tires on them, which I had to cut the front fenders to make them fit, a clutch type LSD, and rear disc brakes. The car does surprisingly great off road and I usually get around 26-28mpg. I still need to increase the approach angle in the front and possibly swap in a 5 speed 4wd hi/low transmission which has a better low range. Its nickname is because when it is driving down the road the rear sits up in the air and it looks a stink bug.
